Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of large-scale electoral fraud in Haryana as a “diversionary tactic” ahead of the Bihar elections, calling his presentation “fake”.

“They are doing all this to hide their failure,” Rijiju said at a press conference, asserting that the Congress was “looking for excuses for its impending defeat” with Bihar polling just two days away.

“We never questioned exit polls, but they can’t accept the people’s mandate,” he added.

“Rahul Gandhi addressed the press to hide his failures. There will be polling in Bihar (tomorrow), however, he was sharing stories about Haryana,” Rijiju said.

“This shows that the Congress has nothing left in Bihar and this is why to deviate attention, he is raking up the Haryana issue,” Kiren Rijiu said.

“I would advise him that, being the Leader of Opposition, he should talk on serious issues and not waste time on irrelevant issues,” he added.

Rijiju accused Rahul Gandhi of “abusing India’s institutions and judiciary when abroad” and claimed that “someone outside India is giving him such illogical suggestions.”

Emphasising that there was “no logic” behind Gandhi’s “vote chori” charges, Rijiju said India’s Gen Z and youth “stand firmly with Prime Minister Modi.”

“We are genuine voters, my name is on the register and there are no complaints. The fake entries, names that don’t exist or belong to people who are no longer alive, have been struck off,” the Union Minister said.

“Those people aren’t filing complaints, it’s Rahul Gandhi who is making a fuss,” he said.

Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi alleged that 25 lakh fake voter entries were used to “steal” the Haryana Assembly elections, accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gandhi said the “vote chori” operation was a “centralised plan” to convert a Congress landslide into a BJP win.

DHARMENDRA PRADHAN SLAMS RAHUL GANDHI

Following Rahul Gandhi’s press conference, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan termed it a “ploy to save his head from the impending crushing defeat in Bihar”.

“Rahul Gandhi’s press conference today is merely a ploy to save his head from the impending crushing defeat in Bihar,” he wrote in an X post.

“Everyone knows that Rahul Gandhi does not believe in the country’s constitution, democracy, democratic system, parliamentary system, and the people’s right to vote. He is lost in an ideal world where he thinks ‘no accounts, no ledgers, whatever Rahul Gandhi says is right.'”

“But the truth is that through all these baseless ploys, he wants to distance himself from the defeat that is going to happen in the Bihar elections. He also knows that the Congress, along with RJD, the entire Mahagathbandhan’s position in Bihar is in tatters and the public is continuously rejecting these people,” Pradhan wrote.

“They come with one lie every time, then that lie bomb fizzles out. After that, they come up with a new lie. Rahul Gandhi has become a research centre for lies and false narratives. No one takes him seriously anymore,” his X post read.

“Even after all these ploys, Rahul Gandhi cannot escape responsibility for yet another failure,” he mentioned.

Addressing a press conference today, Rahul Gandhi alleged ‘Operation Sarkar Chori’ was launched to convert the landslide Congress victory into a loss in Haryana, the party’s former president alleged.

He also alleged that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is “lying” to the people of India when he stated that house number zero is given to homeless people, and that is the reality of zero-number houses.

Addressing a press conference at the Indira Bhawan in the national capital, Gandhi cited the electoral list of Haryana to claim that 25,41,144 were fake voters with multiple examples of duplicate voters, invalid addresses and bulk voters.

The BJP won 48 seats in the 2024 Haryana Assembly polls, while the Congress secured 37.
